FOTOhub vs Canva: templates to fill, or models to generate with
Canva is a design tool with generation added to it. FOTOhub is a generation platform with editing, video, audio and an API around it. Both end in a finished asset, and they suit different teams: one starts from a layout somebody else designed, the other starts from a prompt and a choice of 44 image models. Here are the list prices, the coverage, and the case for each.

Cheapest paid plan at list price, monthly billing, as published by each vendor in 07 / 2026. "Partly" means limited, higher-tier only, or sold as a separate product. Coverage describes what Canva Pro and FOTOhub ship, not how good the output is — that is a judgement only you can make. Prices change: check Canva Pro's own pricing page and ours at /public_prices before you buy.
Where Canva is the better buy
If the work is a steady stream of social posts, decks and print pieces built from templates by people who are not designers, Canva is built exactly for that: a huge template and stock library, shared brand assets, several editors in the same document, and printing you can order from inside the tool. FOTOhub has none of that library and does not resell Canva.
Choosing the model, not the layout
On FOTOhub the choice you make at the start is which model runs: 44 image models from 12 providers, each with its credit cost on screen first. That is the difference between filling a frame with a stock photo and generating the photograph the brief actually asked for — a pack shot on a seamless background, an interior at the right time of day, a poster whose typography is legible.
Video and audio priced by what you render
FOTOhub bills a second of video from 0.1 credit across 55 models and 11 providers, adds generated music from 1.7 credits a minute, narration, sound design and captions burned to frame, and hands back vertical cuts for shorts and UGC. One balance covers the picture and the sound, so a campaign video does not need a second vendor for its soundtrack.
For a catalogue, not a single post
Everything FOTOhub does is available over a REST API with Python and TypeScript SDKs, webhooks, a CLI and an MCP server, and plugins push finished images straight into WordPress, Shopify or PrestaShop. Agents and flows run the same steps across a whole product feed, which is the point at which opening an editor per item stops being possible.
Frequently asked questions
- Does FOTOhub have templates like Canva?
- Not a library of that size. FOTOhub has a design editor, a presentation studio, portfolio mini-pages and style presets, and it generates the artwork rather than supplying stock to drop into a layout. For template-first work Canva stays the stronger tool.
- Is FOTOhub cheaper than Canva Pro?
- At the list prices we audited the cheapest paid plans were $8 and $15 a month. FOTOhub also has a free plan with 50 credits and no card, and paid credits carry over into video and audio instead of expiring as an unused image quota. Current plans are on /public_prices.
- Can the two work together?
- Yes, and plenty of teams do: generate and retouch the imagery here, then lay it out in Canva. Exports are standard formats, and the API or the CLI can deliver finished files into whatever storage your design tool reads from.
- Do you have a shop integration?
- Yes — plugins for WordPress, Shopify and PrestaShop, plus the REST API for anything else. The integrations are listed on /integrations.
